Job Title: Senior Analyst

 

Purpose of Job:

The Senior Analyst will be a member of the Financial Reporting group reporting to a Manager. 

 

The responsibilities include:

 

Providing support in the preparation and analysis of Global Operations monthly expense reporting, business line allocations, and project assignments.

Responsible for the accuracy of the business line allocation numbers for actual/plan/forecast including creating monthly EGL Business line adjustment entries.  Communicate with individuals in various business lines and EO on the results and explain any discrepancies.

Ensure the timely and completeness of the Global Operations expense report preparation in relation to statutory, management, Blue Book, Forecasts and plan by performing reasonability and checks.

Perform analysis of variances between planned/forecast and actual expenses for Global Operations' multiple business lines and provide value added commentaries.

Support Manager in the efforts of building financial models, automate reporting processes and develop process controls.

Participate in other projects as assigned.

 

Education/Work Experience/Designations

Post-secondary degree in Finance or Accounting with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience. Completion or enrollment of a professional accounting designation or MBA is preferred.

 

Qualifications

  • A good understanding of financial and management reporting principles; ability to sustain a broad-based knowledge of the Bank's and Global Operations' strategy, operations and procedures.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • A familiarity with and the propensity for systems and spreadsheets such as Excel's pivot tables, and macros.
  • Ability to multi-task, change priorities, and work accurately within tight deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of EGL, OBI, Hyperion and Smartview is an asset.
