Senior Director, Pharmacy & Healthcare Technology – Applications, Brampton ON
We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Senior Director to help drive Technology Applications for our Pharmacy and Healthcare Technology products.
You will partner closely with Sr. Director, PHC Technology – Operations, with shared outcomes to improve the Pharmacy experience with enhanced features and increased stability and resiliency.
You will play a strategic role in the modernization and evolution of many products that will make a significant and lasting impact on Canadians. In addition, you are responsible for creating and evolving architectural and technological patterns; educating and governing adoption of such across our product family.
You will develop an understanding of our products by working closely with our business partners and development teams to devise and fulfill a transformative roadmap using modern architectural and development approaches to meet requirements and position us for substantial growth in scalability and performance.
What You Will Do
Cultivate an understanding of our products, along with their respective strengths and weaknesses, and provide solutions to existing and future challenges.
Accountability for technology choices and ensuring we progress on consolidation of technology/tools.
Ensures engineering standards and practices are upheld and incorporated in our processes.
Helps guide technology solutions to ensure they are achieving business needs as well as technical requirements.
Assist in application design and engineering to drive stability, performance, and quality through your knowledge of industry trends and tools, together with your own experience.
Ensures blockers are cleared on projects and that we deliver according to timelines where possible
Drive process and methodology improvements to help development teams tear down obstacles and keep initiatives on target and moving forward.
Work together with business partners to build a roadmap for your portfolio with prioritization.
Responsible for budget management for all application development withing Pharmacy & Healthcare Technology
Lead a team - provide guidance - able to coach, mentor and grow technology and development team
What You Will Need
An undergraduate degree in Computer Science or equivalent from a recognized institution combined
A proven ability within an Information Technology or technology department, and proven experience leading a technology/engineering department
Experience both cloud technologies/platforms
Good interpersonal skills, clearly able to articulate verbally and in writing; able to present and champion your ideas while being receptive to other’s
Proven abilities to communicate and collaborate in a matrix environment
Hands on experience in working in Agile methodologies with focus on DevOps and CI/CD practices. In depth knowledge about Quality Engineering practice
Practice with current micro-service design and development, with an eye to refactoring legacy code
You must be reliable, proactive, results-oriented, customer-focused and attentive to details. Experience leading large teams with a combination of full-time employees, onshore contractors and offshore contractors
Experience with DB technologies: SQL, DB2, Mongo. Coding Languages: Java, React. Experience foundational enterprise-level services for large decentralized applications.
