Job Purpose
As a Senior data engineer in Data Management, AML/ATF Models and Analytics team, you will contribute to build better way to approach all banking product/service systems data for AML/ATF purpose by using your advanced engineering , analytical and communication skills. This role will be responsible for leading project work in BI reporting, Data Quality and Data Management improvement for AML/ATF model building and performance enhancement. You will design and execute more efficient Data Engineering and Development Operation processes. Also you will lead a highly skilled team of Data Engineers to deliver value to financial crime risk management. This role will work close to Data Governance, technology department as well as AML compliance office to provide guidance and business requirement for ensuring success in the management of the critical data elements used by all AML/ATF models in order to comply with the corporate audit and regulatory standards.
Accountabilities
• Lead team to Deep Dive into banking product/service sources data , performing data profiling and analysis to determine better dimmensional/Hierarchical data for AML/ATF model and predict data analysis.
• Lead team to use latest cloud and computing technology to deliver end to end infrastructure that raise the bar on AML analytic innovation and quality.
• Hands-on ownership architecting and developing highly scalable and highly available applications in Hadoop or Cloud
• Act as a subject matter expert for AML/ATF initiatives, working with project senior leadership providing an understanding of the increased risk of AML/ATF associated with implementation of the initiative and developing FIU business requirements to mitigate these risks.
• Provide data expertise and identify data patterns within banking data to help identify different types of AML risks.
• Leading data quality assessment for AML/ATF models and work with Technology partners to solve data quality issues and mitigate AML risks
• Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge
• Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct
Skills / Experience
• Strong knowledge of Big Data framework and building scalable applications in Cloud, such as Microsoft Azure etc.
• Strong knowledge of banking product/service and backend data lifecycle, international wire (SWIFT and NOT SWIFT) will be asset.
• Strong effective communication skills and manage expectations with diverse groups or stakeholders
• Experienced programming in such as Python, PySpark, Scala and building dataset and data flow in Power BI
• Experienced with databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL
• AML/ATF experience or analytic knowledge
• Oracle Mantas Application experience and knowledge
Education
• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or engineering
• Strong experience with data modelling and data analysis
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in AML/ATF
