Are you a proactive self-starter with the skills and Communications experience to provide strategic advice and counsel as a member of Suncor’s Brand Strategy and Communications Services team? You will work closely with the Manager, Brand Marketing and Sponsorship, and the Chief Sustainability Office (CSO), and play a meaningful role in developing and implementing a fully integrated brand marketing and sponsorship program.

You will use your expertise to:

  • Support the stand up of an enhanced Calgary sponsorship strategy, working with the manager to implement a comprehensive employee activation, leader support and marketing program to capture full value from our sponsorship portfolio
  • Work with the CSO to develop strong external relationships with sponsorship properties, improving the benefits of Suncor’s sponsorship dollars while building strong community relationships and presence
  • Manage the sponsorship intake, assessment, activation and measurement processes for the sponsorship portfolio
  • Provide strategy support for all advertising and marketing programs
  • Support content development for  www.Together.Suncor.Com  (our company’s external storytelling portal)
  • Contribute to the creation and execution of new creative platforms and brand campaigns to effectively tell Suncor’s story and increase audience engagement

We’d like to review your application if you have…

Must-haves (minimum requirements):

  • 10 years of experience in a marketing and/or communications position
  • A University degree in Communications, Public Relations, Business or Marketing
  • Experience working with agency partners, sponsorship properties and internal teams to develop and execute fully integrated activation and marketing programs in support of sponsorships
  • A proactive personality, are co-creative with strong consultation, negotiation, relationship building, conflict management and problem solving skills
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office products, specifically Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong project management skills with experience in managing multiple, complex projects simultaneously, developing metrics and delivering measurable results

Preference for:

Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other meaningful information:

  • You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
  • Occasional irregular hours may be required for external engagement, emergency on-call requirements and supporting operations in different time zones
  • This position will require occasional travel
