Sr Application Support Specialist, Brampton, ON (18-months contract)
The Private Label and Food Safety team manages and supports applications for developing private label retail products and quality, ensuring they meet regulatory and business requirements. In addition to providing ongoing support for application enhancements and optimization, the team plays a key role in driving future initiatives aimed at streamlining business processes and improving efficiency across operations.
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Sr Application Support Specialist to provide technical support, maintenance, and development for our organization's core applications, including FileMaker Pro, Power Apps, and GCP-based applications. The ideal candidate will have strong, demonstrable experience with the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Dynamics 365, Power Automate), as well as hands-on expertise with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services. In this role, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, optimizing, and enhancing these applications and cloud infrastructure to ensure business operations run smoothly. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new features, resolve issues, and ensure efficient system performance.
What You’ll Do:
- Design new features, automate deployments, aid in architectural design. You will collaborate with diverse agile teams (i.e. Infrastructure, Information Security, System/Application Development Teams and external partners/vendors) to assist with the implementation of complex innovative features
- Identifying and diagnosing deficiencies related to systems, coding and infrastructure, and recommending creative solutions for mitigation.
- Determine optimal configurations for application software, application servers, and database connections. I.e. Configure, tune and troubleshoot multi-tiered systems to achieve optimal application performance, stability and availability
- Ability to work collaboratively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
What you Bring:
- Hands on experience with software engineering, computer science or related technical field
- Strong, demonstratable knowledge of and development experience within the Microsoft Power Platform: Power Apps, Dynamics 365, Power Automate
- Intermediate experience with Claris Platform and Filemaker Pro and SQL and GCP Services (CloudSQL, Compute Engine, Cloud Monitoring, and Cloud Load Balancing.)
- Proven experience with the principles of ITIL Incident Management, Problem Management and Change Management
