ABOUT YOUR ROLE
As a Senior Analyst, Sustainability and Climate Innovation, you will join the Sustainability and Climate Innovation group within the office of our Chief Investment Officer. In your role, you’ll:
Play an active role in the activities of the Sustainability and Climate Innovation group
Conduct research and quantitative analysis of ESG factors at the risk and opportunity level to support their integration into PSP Investments' investment and shareholder engagement activities across asset classes
Participate in the development and improvement of tools related to ESG integration and investment monitoring
Support the implementation of PSP Investments' climate strategy, including active participation in a number of key activities related to the integration of climate considerations into decision-making and portfolio construction, and the development of PSP Investments' green asset taxonomy
Participate in the ESG assessment and monitoring processes of external managers and general partners
Prepare reports for PSP engagement activities with companies and portfolio partners
Contribute to PSP's disclosure and reporting activities on ESG issues, both internally and externally
Conduct research, analysis, and presentations on ESG issues and best practices for institutional investors
Liaise with various internal groups to advance projects related to tools, enterprise data services and the ESG framework
Participate in the proxy voting process by analysing the company's regulatory documents and ensuring that they comply with PSP's voting principles
Actively participate in collaborative and leadership initiatives with industry peers
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Bachelor's degree in finance, science, or a sustainability-related discipline (master's degree or MBA with a focus on sustainability or IT, an asset)
Extensive knowledge of ESG/sustainable investment or one (1) to three (3) years of relevant experience
Strong analytical skills with numbers and advanced level of Excel (PowerBI, an asset)
Ability to navigate a fast-paced environment
Effective communication skills, with an ability to influence and create positive change
Ability to build trust and long-term productive relationships
Strong ability to combine qualitative and quantitative analysis to solve complex business problems
Demonstrated initiative and curiosity to look beyond surface facts and conduct comprehensive, fact-based, value-added research
Strong technology and data analysis skills (computer programming, an asset)
Attention to detail and rigorous approach to research, analysis and documentation
Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with colleagues across various teams
Eagerness to learn, ideate and innovate
Drive to pursue excellence and challenge the status quo to seek out alternative perspectives
Open-mindedness and active listening skills
Sustainable Investment Professional Certification Program (SIPC), CFA Institute ESG certificate, SASB FSA credentials or equivalent, an asset
Effective communication skills in English and French, both written and spoken
