A career as a Senior Advisor, on the Integrated Risk Management (IRM) team at National Bank, means acting as an expert in risk management regulations.
In your role, you will support, as a regulations specialist, the IRM units in the governance of risk management frameworks in alignment with the respective regulatory requirements. You will be in charge of managing regulators' requests, and you will coordinate the compliance of risk management frameworks to the applicable regulatory requirements.
Your job
- Influence IRM units and act as an advisor in the governance of risk management frameworks
- Formulate recommendations to strengthen the effectiveness of controls supporting managers
- Coordinate and ensure the completion of initiatives aimed to attest the compliance of risk management frameworks with applicable regulatory guidelines
- Coordinate and organize the governance of regulators' requests, ensuring that regulators' expectations are addressed adequately
- Implement and evolve the regulatory knowledge framework as well as a community to strengthen regulatory framework practices
- Monitor the regulatory changes and coordinate the impact assessment of the new regulatory requirements
- Represent the Bank to various agencies and bodies: regulatory authorities, industry and other stakeholders
- Produce executive reporting to senior management when required
Your team
Within the Integrated Risk Management sector, you will be part of the Strategy and Risk team, composed of twelve colleagues and report to the Senior Manager, Regulatory Governance and Living Wills.
Our team's mission is to be a center of regulation expertise supporting the IRM sector in the governance of risk management frameworks and to maintain the Bank's financial crisis management program – Living Wills.
Prerequisite
- Industry-related bachelor's degree and 6 to 8 years of relevant experience OR industry-related master's degree and 5 years of relevant experience
- Experience in risk management or regulatory compliance
- Demonstrated leadership and ability to ensure effective coordination and partnership in multi-stakeholder mandates
- Demonstrated strong skills with respect to influence, communication and writing
- Good knowledge of the regulations applicable to banks (OSFI)
