JOB OVERVIEW: SECURITY SYSTEMS ADVISOR
The Security Systems advisor is responsible for providing technical support for security systems, including but not limited to access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and alarm systems. In this role the candidate will assist the Manager, Security Systems in the day-to-day operation, administration, and maintenance of the campus security systems. They will be expected to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to these systems and will work with the KPU community to ensure the physical security needs are met. Additionally, the advisor will provide support to the incident management and emergency notification systems to ensure timely and accurate reporting, training to new employees and support for the department managers.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- At least one year of experience with intrusion detection, camera surveillance, and access control systems, installation, support and training end users.
- At least one year of low voltage installation and service experience.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Computer and technologically proficiency
- Exceptional customer service abilities and experience
- Experience writing technical documentation
- Data entry and management experience
- Ability to travel between campuses is required
