JOB OVERVIEW
Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a strategic and results-driven leader to join our Energy Markets team in the role of Section Manager, Maintenance.
The Section Manager Maintenance will carry out the standard accountabilities of a Manager in one or more of the following maintenance functions; civil, control, mechanical, maintenance planning, maintenance procedures and standards, and maintenance strategy.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Manage the execution of preventive and corrective maintenance activities performed by skilled maintenance workers as required based on schedules issued by the Work Management Department.
- Manage urgent corrective maintenance as requested by the Maintenance Manager.
- Be the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for outages, both forced and planned
- Provide direction to complete work safely, in compliance with OSHA and the OPG Safety Management System
- Manage the maintenance work within the parameters of the OPG security program, meeting the CNSC and IEAE requirements
- Understand and manage the Human Performance program for the maintenance Department. This includes Observation and Coaching in the field and providing feedback to direct reports
- Manage the metrics for the maintenance department. Including but not limited to; headcount, financial data, work completion, schedule adherence, contract spending
- Be able to present metrics to all levels of the company
- Manage all work being performed while understanding the radiation requirements where work is performed.
- Ability to take initiative and work independently to achieve the strategic direction as set out by the maintenance manager
- Ability manage projects to increase efficiency in the workplace, this includes change management with employees, and project management of equipment
- Perform self-assessments of the Maintenance Department against OPG, and industry standards. Recommend improvement initiatives.
- Track corrective and improvement actions and provide progress reports to managers in the Maintenance Departments.
- Ensure effective short and long term workforce modelling is in place to accurately predict the requirements on critical skill Nuclear Staff, providing forecast of permanent and temporary staff requirements with consideration given to demographics, attrition, plant closures, plant refurbishments, new builds, market conditions and available staff supply.
- Together with peers at other sites, continually assess and maintain the OPG, documentation associated with the maintenance function.
EDUCATION
- University degree or college diploma
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5-10 years of experience in a management role
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrable experience presenting and speaking engagements
- Exceptional interpersonal relationship building, employee coaching and development skills
- Experience in a unionized environment would be an asset
