Job Description

What is the Opportunity?

We are looking for a SecOps Developer that is energetic, enthusiastic, well organized and has a passion for Cyber Security & Development to join our team. We are a team that requires an eager go-getter who wants to take charge, provide valuable client support and become a dependable team player within the organization.  This is a very technical and well-rounded role that is suitable for someone that can jump in and solve challenges as needed with an emphasis to automate and enhance scan operations. You will be joining the Security Vulnerability Scanning & Threat Surface Reduction team within RBC’s Cyber Operations Unit providing technical support for security scanning and cyber reporting services within RBC’s infrastructure and global operations. You will be continually developing new skills and implement strategies to ensure RBC’s vulnerability and compliance capabilities remain relevant and prepared for changing threat landscapes and emerging attack vectors.

What will you do?

  • Maintain and manage vulnerability scanning security tools in various deployment patterns including Linux VMs, Docker Containers, Kubernetes Clusters and Infrastructure as Code

  • Co-lead on-going enhancements to our Vulnerability Scanning services.

  • Manage Infrastructure-As-Code built in Python/YAML, controlled in GitHub and deployed with Jenkins in cloud native environments

  • Further security integration and collaboration with our core DevOps CI/CD Pipeline which enables AppDev teams to deliver exceptional & secure client experiences with speed, quality and efficiency

  • Participate in tracking and resolving technical issues while providing ongoing support to the vulnerability scanning processes & operations

  • Introduce further cross-collaboration integrations to our scanning tools such as Log Management (Splunk, Datadog, Kibana, Grafana, Prometheus), Tableau Reporting, ServiceNow CMDB, Slack & Email notifications

  • Decipher Vulnerability scan results, direct Developers on remediation and investigate False Positive Claims

  • Stay informed and in-the-know on emerging Cyber Security threats & vulnerabilities

  • Provide scheduled on-call support and weekend support for change and maintenance activities

  • Implement & Maintain Vulnerability & Configuration Management solutions in Public and Private Cloud environments (AWS/AZURE/PCF/OCP)

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Hands on experience with Linux/Unix operating systems

  • Strong Python or Java programming skills; making API Calls, using GitHub and familiar with Infrastructure as Code concepts

  • Strong understanding of cloud computing technologies including: Containers, VMs, Docker, Kubernetes, Code Functions (Lambdas)

  • Excellent communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate in technical and non-technical scenarios

  • Experience in troubleshooting large applications with multiple data sources and system interfaces

  • Innovative mindset to automate tasks and improve processes

Nice-to-have

  • Experience with vulnerability management processes and scanning products (such as Tenable, Qualys, Aqua, Prisma)

  • Familiarity with Service Now, JIRA, Confluence and working in an agile environment

  • Experience with public and private cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP, Openshift or PCF

  • Experience with Log Management & Monitoring tools such as Splunk, Datadog, Dynatrace, Grafana or Prometheus

  • Experience with DevOps CI/CD Pipeline development and workflow: Build, Ship, Run

  • Security or Cloud related Certification
