Purpose: As a member of the National Sales Management team, the Manager, Business Operations contributes to building and maintaining a strong platform that supports a high-performance, high-demand Branch network.
The Manager is responsible to effectively and efficiently manage a number of policies and procedures regarding core ScotiaMcLeod programs relating to compensation, performance reporting and Advisor transitions.
What You'll Be Doing:
1. Compensation and Performance
- Management of compensation programs, policies and procedures related to compensation and performance, including the implementation of policies, periodic reviews, reporting and tracking.
- Required to develop a strong knowledge of ScotiaMcLeod Advisor code management and PriceMetrix householding methodology.
- Required to develop a strong knowledge of the Advisor Cash Compensation model, including Grid and Commission payout.
- Develop an in-depth understanding of the ScotiaMcLeod Succession Program and Advisor Agreements.
2. Policy Support, Project Management and Initiatives
- Management and support for ad hoc projects and initiatives, as required, to ensure alignment with the strategic focus as well as operational improvements.
- Management of the Advisor Onboarding and Departure process.
- Actively contribute to decision making and recommendations for improvements.
- Facilitation of communications to the field related to processes and initiatives.
3. Field Management Support
- Provide optimal and efficient support to our clients and business partners.
- Develop an in depth understanding of the various systems used by the Branch.
- Management of the Business Continuity Plan; providing oversight on the National Office plans.
- Control, execute and provide an end-to-end assistance with requests pertaining to policy clarification, data confirmation or operational issue resolutions.
Do you Have the Skills:
- A minimum of 5 years work experience in the brokerage industry preferred
- Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills in order to effectively work with stakeholders, partners and senior management.
- Must be a proactive, self-starting, results-oriented and highly motivated individual with a strong ability to reconcile competing or conflicting goals in order to resolve business problems of varying complexity and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of back-office processes; brokerage operational processes and end to end workflow
- Knowledge of compliance and regulatory issues preferred
