A day in the life:
- Significant experience of water based civil engineering projects
- Work under the direction of the BIM Manager, Design lead and Project Managers to develop construction document packages in Revit & CAD
- Provide BIM production support to project team; including project model setup, primary discipline project work, and deliverable setup
- Design mechanical building systems directly in Revit/CAD; adhering to company BIM/CAD standards
- Work with clash/coordination reports, assisting with model audits and overall health of the model
- Understanding the requirements of municipal or provincial building code and other applicable standards
- Liaise with suppliers and/or manufacturers for design support, equipment and component selection
- Provide support for plotting and sending of electronic file submission
- Create, document and communicate best practices for, Revit, BIM and AutoCAD applications
- Ensure proper documentation of all works, products, and relevant activities
- Liaise with CAD / BIM leads on best practice, process and technology developments
- Essential working knowledge in a fast-paced environment within the Wastewater/Water Industry
- Compile individual discipline models/design information and federate into multi-disciplinary model information
- Record and monitor shared data and relationships between models ie shared project co-ordinates, levels, grids;
- Arrange for appropriate clash reports to design out clashes in the model (virtual) environment managing and recording their closure
- Co-ordination of drafting with the drafting of other disciplines
- Preparing presentation graphics and proposals; and
- Capable of presenting models to the clients.
What you'll bring to WSP ...
- 10 years plus CAD drafting experience out of which minimum 5 years experience using Revit in a professional workplace
- Expertise in Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks Manage, and Dynamo software
- Expert knowledge of Revit including use of parametric, generation of Bill of Material, assemblies, sub assemblies, creation of families, etc.
- Experience in the construction industry on MEP projects with knowledge in Process flow diagrams specific to Water/Wastewater pump stations and treatment plants
- Metro Vancouver projects experience is an added advantage
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and various other construction documentation
- Significant experience of water based civil engineering projects
- Ability to work well with others and lead less experienced CAD staff
- Ability to work to deadlines and under pressure
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- The successful candidate will possess a certificate/degree from an accredited technical training school or community college of design and drafting and have experience in multi-disciplinary projects as related to water and wastewater market segments
- Must be a team player and work well within a team environment
- Strong oral and written communication skills; and
- Higly motivated and hard working
