Specific Accountabilities

  • Assists in ensuring a safe working environment throughout the facility for all employees
  • Ensure common areas are cleaned on a regular basis
  • Maintain the exterior of the grounds around the residence free of garbage and potential hazards on a daily basis
  • Perform light maintenance duties
  • Participate in a complete cleaning of the residence tri-annually
  • Provide cleaning to student rooms based on a student room cleaning schedule
  • Attends training programs (classroom and virtual) as designated
  • Applies all applicable provincial and related local safety requirements to all assigned work
  • Complies with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures
  • Remove snow from all entrances and keep walkways clear of ice
  • Some weekend and evening hours will be expected
  • Other duties as assigned by the General Manager and/or the Maintenance and Custodial Supervisor


What You’ll Need to Succeed: 

  • A clear Vulnerable Sector’s Criminal Record Check
  • 2 - 3 years of related experience
  • Demonstrated ability to perform light maintenance repairs
  • Ability to speak in Mandarin or Hindi an asset, English is required
  • Ability to be thorough, accurate, and have a high level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work independently and without a high level of supervision and direction.
  • Understanding of, and ability to demonstrate, the principles of confidentiality
  • Proven Team Player
