Senior DevOps Engineering Developer

You will work with the Platform Engineering group to design and implement Interac’s Next Generation technology platform. You will work with different internal product owners, development teams and architects to help develop solutions. You will participate in daily scrum meetings and will develop the DevOps platform in an agile working model.

You’re great at…

  • Provide best practices & expertise with implementing Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI-CD) pipelines to help automate steps in the software delivery process, such as initiating code builds, running automated tests, and deploying to a staging or production environment

  • Lead end-to-end systems engineering, requirements and user story development processes to deliver operational automation capabilities

  • Engaging in both Development and Operations activities to streamline release management

  • Holding exceptional knowledge of best practices to automate deployments and software delivery pipeline

  • Keeping our tooling and processes up to date with our evolving needs as we scale out both the user-base and the engineering team.

  • Working closely with our development and product teams to understand their bottlenecks, and to mentor them on operational ownership.

  • Helping to improve our internal tooling (instrumentation, dashboards, deployment automation), as well as the infrastructural availability of our production services.

  • Implementing and maintaining system configurations and baselines to support secure application development software control best practices and standards.

  • Providing high-availability operational support and automated solutions across the environment.

  • Supporting the development team and performing activities to resolve developer issues in a timely and accurate fashion.

  • Implementing deep telemetry capabilities to provide ongoing success and performance metrics.

Who are you?

  • You have 5+ years experience in SRE or DevOps building software development pipelines.

  • Must be eligible to work for Interac Corp. in Canada in a Full Time Capacity.

  • You have a degree or an advanced diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology or other engineering field.

  • You have great ability to explain complex problems in simple language to non-technical people.

  • You have strong communication skills, including technical writing.

  • You have strong organizational skills and are self-motivated.

  • You are self-starter, outgoing team player, able and willing to multitask and prioritize it accordingly.

  • You are good at Devops and platform reliability engineering; ensure you support the Devops platform and keep it running 24/7.

  • You have knowledge of integrating the application with multiple tools/stack and deployment best practices.

You have working experience with the following tools and technologies:

  • Delivery experience in an agile setting.

  • Experience in DevOps, pipeline tools (Jenkins, Artifactory, SonarCube) and gitOps processes.

  • Experience in building, deploying & troubleshooting Cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS & Azure Stack Hub.

  • Knowledge of Container Orchestration such as Docker and Kubernetes.

  • Experience with Ansible and Terraform would be an asset

  • Understanding of JVM, SpringBoot and Java runtimes.

  • Knowledge of Bash, Python, working with RESTful APIs.

  • Software defined routers such as Envoy or Nginx, Consul, and microservices and service mesh.

  • Experience in setup and configuration of products like Vault, Prisma Cloud.

  • Understand software design patterns, SRE models and chaos engineering tools.
