Senior Program Manager - Digital ID

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the end-to-end project management of complex technical and business projects, within Interac’s project portfolio. The Senior Project Manager drives the end-to-end project plan, from building out the specs to liaising directly with external partners, managing the details as well as the big picture. The Senior Project Manager is capable of responding resourcefully to challenging situations and is able to foster a calming influence on others. This is a role for someone who is an expert at identifying and managing risk and partnering with project sponsors in achieving project outcomes.

The Senior Project Manager builds effective relationships with project stakeholders, removing roadblocks and driving the work of an innovative team. As part of the Enterprise Project Management Office, you will have the opportunity to actively contribute to the project management approach, strategy, and processes.

Responsibilities:

  • End-to-end project management for large and complex cross-functional projects, including detailed planning, budgeting, reporting, implementation, and change management

  • Oversee the day-to-day project delivery through the application of best practices in project management principles and methodologies

  • Plan and execute projects as per EPMO processes and methodology

  • You will consider the big-picture effects and proactively manage issue resolution, negotiating and influencing at all levels to ensure project goals are met

  • Effectively manage change to project scope, and take active leadership in timely decision making

  • Manage, measure and report on project scope, schedule, risk and health indicators according to the defined reporting standards, KPIs, governance structure, and rules of engagement.

  • Prepare, maintain, and report on project budgets, including leading the tracking and accounting of project-related expenditures.

  • Establish project schedules, manage communications and scope

  • Drive the project communications to project sponsors and senior management.

  • Lead and facilitate project retrospectives and requirement sessions, document outcomes and follow up on actions assigned to ensure completion

  • Manage the project resources, coach, and lead project team members, providing administrative oversight of the resources throughout the lifecycle of the project

  • Manage vendor or third-party relationships, as required by the needs of the project

  • Manage inter-team dependencies and resolve scheduling conflicts for activities that are performed by internal and vendor teams

  • Work with the EPMO team and cross functional stakeholders to continuously improve the project management practices and methodology.

Who are you?

  • You are decisive and a solution-focused project leader with 5+ years’ experience managing technical and business projects, preferably in the financial services industry, information technology, product development and/or business transformation.

  • Must be eligible to work for Interac Corp. in Canada in a Full Time Capacity.

  • You have a university degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent combined relevant work experience and certifications.

  • A PMP certification or Scrum Master certification is preferred.

  • You have working experience with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, Confluence, Planview PPM.

  • You have experience in the delivery of complex product development and technology projects.

  • You have strengths in strategic visioning and concept development and apply a creative and process-oriented approach.

  • You are highly detail oriented and meticulous. Your focus is on accomplishing every milestone while ensuring processes are followed and issues are proactively dealt with.

  • You are a skilled negotiator and navigator. You respond calmly and resourcefully to challenging situations, roadblocks, conflicts and change requests.

  • You have expertise in working closely with internal and external stakeholders to identify business challenges and to develop effective strategies to realize visions and increase adoption.

  • You are an outstanding communicator in formal, informal, large, small, verbal, and written communications. You can effectively influence and work with people at all levels.

  • You can anticipate, understand, and respond to the needs of internal and external project partners. You are driven to meet or exceed expectations. You are a forward thinker and can innovate solutions to keep the project - and the business - moving forward.

  • You thrive in a changing environment and welcome the opportunity to lead and implement growth and opportunity.
