Senior Java Developer
You will design and build primarily back-end applications with a medium size team working on mission-critical applications on RESTful API services. You are passionate about building new applications, adding new features, enhancing existing products, and translating the client's business requirements into specific systems and technology solutions.
You will be responsible for developing, enhancing and maintaining the company’s highly distributed, high-performance payment system. Also, you are experienced in database model design for high performance systems with proven experience. You’ll be expected to perform analysis, design, implementation, performance testing and tuning. You will create and maintain relevant technical documentation. You have extensive knowledge & experience in core Java, Spring boot and various open-source packages along with system design experience. You will be expected to work with various SDLC methodologies and Agile software development environment. If you have development experience in payment processing and payment systems that is a huge asset!

Developing and maintaining resilient microservices applications including analysis, design, development and implementation.
Knowledgeable in API & Microservices technologies and containers (Spring Boot, Istio, Envoy, Docker, Kubernetes).
Experience with database design and development using relational databases, preferably Oracle
Maintain Entity relationship Diagrams, design DB objects for the best performance and Data Lifecycle Management.
Exceptional problem solving and analytical abilities.
Experience using Development tools, frameworks & technologies such as Java, Springboot, JPA/Hibernate, RESTful APIs,JWT etc.
Understanding of cloud-native design principles and best practices.
Proactively identifying application weaknesses and recommending appropriate solutions, performing functional and code reviews in related areas.
Participating in system and application architecture.
Grasping the business requirements and designing the applications.
Working with software testing teams and assisting them in maintaining robust test scripts and test environments.
Supporting the operations group in application problem analysis and resolution.
Who are you?
You have a University Degree in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must be eligible to work for Interac Corp. in Canada in a Full Time Capacity
7+ software development experience in Java development platform.
Experience developing Java applications using different frameworks (Spring, Spring MVC, Spring Boot, JPA, Hibernate).
Experience in building and maintain DDL, SQL scripts, understands database administration.
Experience with relational databases such as Oracle, MS SQL etc. Experience in No-SQL DBs is an advantage.
Experience designing, writing, securing and consuming REST APIs, use of OAuth2, JWT/JWE/JWS, etc.
Experience with event /messaging technologies.
A solid understanding of different types of open-source packages, preferably anything Spring, Apache (Hibernate, ActiveMQ, Camel, Http Commons) and data transformation (jaxb2, json, xml).
Experience developing high-throughput, low latency systems and implementing high-performance, service-oriented architectures.
Experience as full stack developer is an advantage.
Experience building resilient/distributed applications and you have good understanding of network protocols/concepts.
Experience with microservices, containerized applications, Docker/Kubernetes, cloud technologies.
You are self-motivated and able to learn quickly.
Excellent analysis, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
You’re able to keep pace with new technologies and to apply them appropriately.
Strong communication skills - verbal and written (technical documentation).
You have participated in the overall delivery of software components as part of an agile development process.
