The Infrastructure and Operations team is behind some of Canada’s most-used payments platforms, including Interac e-Transfer. We design for 99.999% availability, ensuring Canadians can rely on Interac solutions whenever and wherever they want. Using best of breed industry strategies and predictive systems management platforms, we effectively support and monitor active, highly availability solutions across multi regions, datacenters and public cloud providers. We also use AIOps, combining big data and machine learning to automate IT operations processes, including event correlation, anomaly detection and causality determination to make sure you always have control over your money.
You’re a passionate, creative and hard-working individual with both a great attention to detail and an excitement to work collaboratively with Interac’s executives. This is a senior-level position, so you’ll be responsible for establishing Interac’s automated Infrastructure and Cloud roadmaps and be accountable for the delivery of all major infrastructure and Platform programs. You will be responsible for ensuring ll programs achieve our availability design targets and lead the program delivery while ensuring the systems are reliable, available, scalable, and secure. You must be creative, self-directed, and an experienced technology leader.
You'll be responsible for:
Translating highly complex business, technical and regulatory requirements into cost-effective IT strategies and solutions, ensuring optimal integration with existing processes and alignment with business priorities.
Execution of timely initiation, prioritization, development, and implementation of projects/solutions which meet the business needs of multiple stakeholders and business partners, with a focus on ensuring Interac’s critical platforms are always available.
Partnering with Interac business and administrative areas to support our transformation and build on our journey of continuous improvement
Identifying and driving the need for future, innovative IT solutions and process improvements that help differentiate Interac.
Developing plans and strategies for their implementation. Ensuring that solutions create operating platforms that are reliable, always available, secure, flexible and robust, and at the same time, can be cost-effectively leveraged across the organization.
Working across all IT teams as required, act as a role-model, providing strong leadership in developing, coaching and mentoring, a highly motivated, multi-disciplinary teams focused on partnering with our internal Stakeholders, Customers and strategic partners.
Ensuring 7/24 systems support and problem resolution and be available 7/24 as required to assist with resolution to critical system failures.
You bring:
A minimum of 10 years’ technology experience, and a minimum of 5 years in a senior technology leadership role.
University degree in Computer Science, Math or Engineering disciplines and/or 10+ years of equivalent industry experience.
Proven experience in effective communication and strategic influencing, at the executive, internal Stakeholder, strategic partner and deliver team levels.
Recognized externally for their leadership and experience setting IT strategy, designing and implementing innovative, high-performance, highly reliable and available IT solutions.
An extensive knowledge of emerging technologies, product development methodologies and technical solutions.
Strong technical leader, with a minimum of 5 years of senior experience leading major IT projects involving multi-disciplinary, multi-vendor teams.
Senior level experience leading IT Transformation, continuous improvement programs. Identify fundamental and systemic issues, and influence team members to take accountability to address, and/or proposal solutions to senior management. Role requires senior knowledge of how all departments within IT operate and support each other.
Knowledge of Canadian banking and payments landscape, economics of debit and credit cards, payment technologies highly desirable.
Senior level experience working with external solution providers, software vendors, etc., including negotiating and management the delivery, of large agreements.
Eligibility to work for Interac Corp. in Canada in a full-time capacity.
