The Relationship Manager (contract) is responsible for managing the activities of corporate issuers and mutual fund companies to ensure client satisfaction through the seamless, timely delivery of accurately executed deliverables for assigned clients. They will maintain and deepen relationships with existing corporate clients and mutual fund companies, by utilizing inside and outside sales techniques.

Key Job Functions/Responsibilities

  • Responsible for directly interfacing with corporate and mutual fund clients for retention initiatives, ensuring successful execution of investor communications

  • Responsible for the co-ordination of proxy and other mailings or other products and services offered by Broadridge

  • Strong knowledge of National Instrument 54-101, National Instrument 51-102, National Policy 11-201 and National Instrument 81-106

  • Meet with existing and potential clients to discuss current regulatory initiatives, and other value propositions offered by Broadridge, to develop and maintain strong relationships

  • Derive, understand, and document the client's business needs (includes identifying client specifications, analyzing client needs and recommending solutions)

  • Refer sales opportunities to Account Executives/Sales Directors, based on client discussions

  • Interface with assigned issuer clients to promote Broadridge services including Virtual Shareholder Meetings, analytics and NOBO winbacks

  • Seek, and provide, internal and external client feedback in the development of new products or product improvements, as well as in the form of issuer surveys

  • Co-ordinate cross-border account management through interaction with Broadridge ICS or other external mailing partners

  • Deliver quality products and services by successful project planning and tracking

  • Responsible for ensuring all services provided and chargebacks are forwarded to Finance for invoicing in accordance with the contracts and/or department procedures

  • Work with internal company resources (Analysts, Developers, Print, Operations, Quality Assurance, etc.) to ensure World Class Service

  • Attend investor meetings as required for shareholder validation or to scrutineer

  • Participate at trade shows, industry conferences and client presentations, as required

  • Advise Director, Client Management, Issuer Services of all developments that may warrant attention or action

  • Flexibility to work overtime is required to meet client demands and high volumes

  • Other duties as requested

Basic Skill Level Requirements

Education:

  • University Degree in Business Administration or equivalent work experience

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in client services, transfer agency, proxy solicitation or other financial industry (mutual fund, banks, or securities industry) preferred

  • Familiarity with key markets (regulatory, issuer, and investment industry) an asset

Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong client management skills

  • Proficient in identifying sales opportunities and following-up on leads

  • Able to work in a cross-functional environment

Tools:

  • Windows environment

  • All necessary advanced technological tools are provided

  • Exposure to database systems is an asset

  • Proxy Plus – Broadridge system
