Position Role: Quantitative Trader
Summary:
The nature of finance is changing, and RBC Capital Markets is looking to recruit the next generation of Quantitative Traders to drive innovation in equity trading. Leveraging quantitative research using a mixture of sophisticated statistical techniques and AI, in combination with software engineering and trading, Quantitative Traders are responsible for conceptualizing and building sophisticated trading strategies. If solving complex problems in a fast-paced and exciting environment with a group of passionate and like-minded individuals appeals to you, the Electronic Market Making group is looking for you.
What will you do?
Research, create, and implement quantitative trading strategies using optimization and cutting-edge machine learning techniques
Apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to expand existing algorithms that trade millions of shares and thousands of times a second
Automation, optimization and re-engineering of desk processes and tools to increase efficiency
Daily management of trading portfolios to ensure that risk is appropriately managed
Analyze market data and trends to investigate previously unexplored structural research areas
Think critically and creatively within a collaborative and close-knit team working on Canada's largest trading floor
Core Competencies:
Passion for quantitative research, software engineering and mathematics
Extensive object-oriented programming experience (Java/Python/C++)
Strong background in mathematics, statistics and machine learning
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Bachelor/Master/PhD degree in Engineering/Computer Science/Mathematics/Statistics or related field
Experience in finance NOT required
