The Opportunity:
WSP E&I Canada Limited is seeking a Project Quality Manager to support a growing program in Chalk River, ON
This opportunity is to join the WSP team responsible for the execution of the Near Surface Disposal (NSDF) Project in Chalk River. The NSDF project, following regulatory approval, represents a 5-year build of the low-level waste repository in Chalk River, with an estimated capital cost of more than $500M.
Please note that this opportunity is based at the project location in Chalk River, Ontario.

A day in the life:
- Develops and updates the project quality management system (QMS) processes, plans, tools, and procedures for compliance with N299.2 and ISO 9001 :2015 standards.
- Develops the Nuclear Quality Assurance Training Material and conducts the quality training sessions for the WSP team, sub-contractors, and suppliers, and their sub-suppliers.
- Provides oversight, ensuring the QMS is communicated and always understood by all parties.
- Ensuring project documentation is up-to date and project records are reviewed and filed appropriately, by working together with the project document control.
- Performs regular oversight and surveillance to ensure site inspectors, sub-contractors and suppliers adhere to the project quality requirements.
- Oversees the QMS implementation and measures its effectiveness via Key Performance Indicators (KPis).
- Responsible for ensuring the project Quality Action Log, Training Matrix, Equipment List, Inspection and Test plan are up-to-date and followed in the field.
- Coordinates and leads all the quality site inspections through the site QC inspectors.
- Prepares for and plays a lead role in internal and external audits.
- Responsible for ensuring effective close of audit findings and project related issues as part of the continual improvement.
- Periodically reviews the quality documentation for conformance with N299.2, ISO 9001 :2015 and WSPQMS requirements.
- Ensures all quality documentation is compiled, approved for use, and completed.
- Provides project functional lines with quality planning, feedback, and support.
- Reports key performance indicators for quality, service, and efficiency.
- Investigates, monitors, documents, and reports on quality issues.
- Quality interface/liaison with owner, owner's representatives, and 3rd party construction quality assurance agents.
What you'll bring to WSP ...
- College Diploma in Nuclear Engineering or similar, coupled with 10+ years of relevant experience in Quality Assurance within a Nuclear environment
- N299.2 Training (or knowledge/ good understanding on how to apply the standard)
- ISO 9001 :2015 knowledge/ understanding on how to apply the standard
- Demonstrated knowledge and ability in the application of quality assurance, management, and procurement principles.
- Experience in the construction industry.
- Strong Microsoft Applications experience, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Strong communication and writing skills.
- Strong organizational skills, judgment, time management and flexibility.
- Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Flexibility for out-of-town travel.
- Must be able to obtain Reliability Status Clearance, which requires an applicant to have lived in Canada for the past three years - Additional security clearances will include, criminal record check, police check and credit check.
