Department, Unit or Project Description:

 

The Clinical Education Coordinator (CEC) within the Masters of Child Life and Pediatric Psychosocial Care program is seeking an Internship Readiness Assistant to help support students in preparing for fall term child life internship application and selection processes.  This is a virtual role and includes creating resources to assist students in preparing various application materials  (e.g. ePortfolios, ACLP Child Life Internship Common Application, etc.), meeting virtually with students one-to-one and in small groups to support the ongoing development of application materials,  and supporting the CEC in running coaching sessions focused on internship readiness topics. Weekly meetings with the CEC will also occur throughout the contract.

 

Job Summary:

 

Provide specialized support and contributions to course/curriculum (re)design efforts.

 

Accountabilities:

 

1.            Work with teaching faculty and the Program Director in implementing a new educational program.

 

2.            Facilitate the implementation of an online educational delivery platform.

 

3.            Follow up on any issues, complaints or needs of instructors, TA’s and students.

 

Qualifications:

 

Education:           Master level education or above.

 

Experience:        A minimum of 5 years in a senior administrative roles.

 

A minimum of 3 years in higher education learning.

 

Additional Information:

  • Stream 1 graduate of the Master’s in Child Life & Pediatric Psychosocial Care Program preferred
  • Experience developing child life internship application materials (e.g. ePortfolio, ACLP Child Life Internship Common Application, etc.)
  • Proficiency in using creative software (e.g. Canva)
  • Availability for approximately 5 hours of virtual work per week. This includes
  • holding virtual meetings with students to support internship application development.
  • Provide feedback to the CEC regarding student support needs, internship application platforms, etc. to inform program plans/development.
  • Perform other related tasks as outlined by the CEC.
  • This position requires excellent communication, organization, and task management skills.
