Salary: $67,893 - $117,697 CAD per annum – based on educational qualifications and experienced as per the Collective Bargaining Agreement

Duties: 

  • Creating an effective environment for applied learning which accommodates students’ diverse cultural and educational backgrounds, experiences and needs.
  • Designing appropriate strategies and tools for facilitating and assessing student learning that are invitational and reflective of best practices in teaching and learning.
  • Ensuring that program and course curricula are current, relevant, and reflective of best practices.
  • Developing appropriate strategies and tools to assess student performance that are consistent with the learning outcomes of the course.
  • Teach students using a systematic plan of lectures, demonstrations, discussion groups, laboratory work, shop sessions, seminars, case studies, field assignments and independent or group projects.
  • Develop curriculum and prepare teaching materials and outlines for courses.
  • Prepare, administer and mark tests and assignments to evaluate students' progress
  • Advise students on program curricula and career decisions.
  • Supervise independent or group projects, studio work or hands-on training.
  • May provide consultation services to government, business and other organizations.
  • May serve on committees concerned with matters such as budgets, curriculum revision, and course and diploma requirements.


Requirements: 

  • Master’s degree in Fine Arts, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field;
  • 5+ years of demonstrated related experience with a record of excellence in game design and related practice in academia and/or industry;
  • Possess a strong foundation in design theory and practice;
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills;
  • Experience with game engines including Unity is required; 
  • Experience developing for a variety of game types, demographics and audiences (entertainment, serious gaming, simulations, education, etc.)
  • Experience in creating and integrating game assets for games is an asset;
