Production Planner
The Production Planner reports to the Senior Site Operations Manager and play a crucial role in providing the business with a detailed production schedule that ensures accurate quantities, production dates, routing, and BOMs to meet demand requirements. The primary objective is to optimize the schedule, minimizing unnecessary changeovers, and maximizing plant efficiencies.
Successful Candidate will possess a combination of following qualifications:
- 2-3 years of experience or exposure to procurement operations, production scheduling, and working within the manufacturing sector
- A post-secondary education in a relevant field is preferred for this role.
- Holding certifications or completing courses from APICS would be beneficial.
- 2-3 year of experience in production planning.
- Proficiency in using enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, particularly E1, is essential.
- A strong command of Excel is also necessary to manipulate and analyze data.
- Possessing a fundamental understanding of capacity planning, Sales and Operations Execution (S&OE), supply chain fundamentals, and master scheduling techniques is an asset.
Key responsibilities:
- Receiving and addressing any issues related to the Master Production Schedule (MPS) plan.
- Creating a detailed schedule from the MPS plan using the designated tool and uploading it to E1.
- Ensuring that all finished goods (FG) work orders are created with accurate dates, quantities, routing, and BOM.
- Ensuring that all work-in-progress (WIP) work orders are created with accurate dates, quantities, routing, and BOM.
- Maintaining P and PT routings and BOM (usage) in E1.
- Creating alternate BOMs and routings in E1 when necessary.
- Scheduling alternatives when required.
- Maintaining up-to-date dates on all work orders by rescheduling any past due orders.
- Communicating any schedule issues to the master scheduler.
- Creating routings for all Continuous Improvement Projects (CIPs), including FG and WIP items.
- Creating new components for all CIPs, such as cartons, poly, klic locs, batters, blends, WIP, and other required ingredients and components.
- Logging assigned metrics related to the role of Detailed Planner.
- Training identified backup personnel in production planning tasks.
