About This Opportunity
The Production Manager at Coke Canada reports to the Senior Manager of Manufacturing Operations and plays a pivotal role in the plant's management, aiming to achieve production targets, quality standards, and cost objectives. This position leads a dynamic team, including 9 production supervisors, 2 production coordinators, and 85 unionized hourly employees, and is responsible for the high-speed bottling operations across 4 production lines, operating 24/5 with additional weekend production to meet demand. Safety and food safety are of utmost importance, with the Production Manager ensuring strict compliance with health and environmental standards and promoting a safety-first culture.

Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on troubleshooting support to the team, foster excellent inter-departmental relations, and oversee personnel for key programs and projects.
- Establish and oversee procedures, production, and quality standards in the assigned area, setting clear performance evaluation goals.
- Enhance workforce capabilities through effective supervision, coaching, and training, focusing on leadership, team development, and conflict resolution.
- Coordinate labor and materials in line with the production schedule, ensuring clear communication of plans and strategies within the department.
- Daily monitoring of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), making recommendations to address quality, safety, and production issues.
- Analyze and report on budget versus forecast regularly, developing continuous improvement strategies.
- Handle departmental scheduling, relationship management with stakeholders, including addressing union grievances.
- Participate in hiring processes, maintain facility equipment standards, and contribute to sustainability and corporate social responsibility efforts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or food science, or equivalent.
- At least 5 years in supervisory roles, demonstrating strong team development and cross-functional management skills.
- In-depth knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices and the ability to evaluate business and manufacturing performance.
- Previous experience working in bottling facilities or bottling equipment manufacturers is highly desired.
- Proactive, with a strong sense of urgency, managing deadlines effectively and quickly addressing operational issues.
- Entrepreneurial, capable of independently advancing initiatives and identifying improvement opportunities.
- Skilled in prioritizing tasks, with a logical approach to decision-making that maximizes efficiency and impact.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and SAP for data analysis, reporting, and operational decision support.
- Knowledge of manufacturing management principles, supply chain strategies, and their interdependencies.
- Demonstrate flexibility by rotating between shifts as needed and being available for weekend on-call support.
