Job Description

What is the opportunity?

RBC is seeking a Liquidity Management Systems (LMS) & Virtual Accounts Management (VAM) Product Subject Matter Expert (SME) within our Banking Technology. This is a green field project to build a brand-new system to serve our corporate clients. You will work collaboratively with vendors and manage front to back functions to ensure projects objectives are achieved. You will be heavily involved in shaping the future technology landscape of RBC, by delivering key business values for a transformational project in our Banking Technology while implementing strategic components servicing across all functions defined in our roadmap.

The Product SME will be responsible for leading all solution approach discussions for LMS & VAM implementations. You will accomplish this with teamwork and collaborate with solution architects, developers, business stakeholders and the vendor teams to ensure solutions are aligned to business and technology strategy.  With a can-do mind set, you will need to be an expert level organizer to resolve business problems in a structured and systematic manner.  You are not afraid of challenging the team on technical details and be able to think functionally.

What will you do?

  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert for the LMS & VAM products and as a go-to person for any queries and suggestions regarding the platform
  • Lead solution approach and design sessions across business & technology teams
  • Provide expert advise on decisioning between out-of-the-box features and customizations
  • Take ownership of key platform decisions. You will author important platform solution approaches ensuring thorough reviews by all stakeholders.  You will organize and lead the review of solutions through all levels of technology governance
  • Develop and socialize end-to-end platform parametrization and customization needs
  • Assist product owners in the identifying the right product parameters
  • Proactively drive rationalization of competing interests and achieve consensus on contentious issues.
  • Closely work with engineering teams in implementing the target state solutions.

What do you need to succeed

Must-have

  • 6-10 years of experience in IT specifically in Financial Services / Banking domain.
  • Expert knowledge and experience on Liquidity Management (including deposits, investments & cash concentration) and Virtual Accounts Management Platforms
  • Experience working with core banking systems
  • In-depth knowledge, experience, and understanding of architecture, application development, application systems design, technology integration and problem solving
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with strong analytical, consultative and team facilitative skills

Nice to have

  • Experience in working with platforms based on APIs, Micro services and Event Based Architectures
  • Experience in working with platforms based on Cloud Computing and Public Cloud Platforms
  • Experience in collaborating with Payments, Data Warehousing & Digital Onboarding systems
  • Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience in Corporate Banking platforms like Finacle, Flexcube, Intellect, FIS & Tieto
  • Hands on agile development experience in a SME / Business Analyst role, including creating and grooming user stories and refining backlog
  • Starter to be comfortable with a fast-moving environment and navigate through the ambiguities
  • Capability to establish and maintain effective partnerships and relationships with RBC Business, Architecture, Development and other groups
  • Working knowledge of JIRA and Confluence
