POSITION OVERVIEW
The Product Planner will be responsible for managing and optimizing the product portfolio of select series models by developing packaging and pricing positioning strategies of current and future entries covering all stages of the vehicle’s lifecycle to achieve Hyundai Canada Corp. strategic sales, profitability and GHG objectives. You will collaborate with stakeholders in the USA and Korea to advocate for the Canadian market-specific requirements based on local consumer insight and the competitive landscape. In addition, you will serve as the primary subject matter expert within the organization for your assigned vehicle line(s).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Implement strategic analysis to support senior management in determining future objectives, actions and product strategies specific to the assigned car lines.
• Manage carline complexity to maximize sales efficiency by recommending market-driven mixes and colour offerings.
• Support vehicle launch activity across all departments to ensure all launch components are complete and deployed before vehicles enter the Canadian market.
• Liaise with the North American Hyundai team in the USA and global Hyundai team in Korea to ensure alignment for all launch activities.
• Support vehicle pricing process.
• Maintain key management reports to track pricing history, competitiveness, and market activity
• Ensure effective communication of all related information to internal and external stakeholders.
• Perform market analysis, assessing the products' competitive position and determining areas for market penetration.
• Perform strategic analysis to support senior management in determining future goals, actions and business/product strategies.
• Build and maintain master files on the Vehicle Ordering System.
• Create and maintain Product Resource Guides.
• Ensure product correctness and strategic alignment for all product-related materials by closely collaborating with other internal departments: Sales, Marketing, Training, After Sales, Public Relations, etc.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for product lines.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
• Excellent organization and planning skills without the need for daily direction (many product planning tasks are forward thinking/planning).
• Team player with strong work ethic and internal motivation to succeed.
• Well rounded business acumen with an understanding of marketing, finance, technical (automotive) and economics.
• Effective presentation skills (presence and speaking).
• Good understanding of the emissions regulations and incentives programs at the provincial and national levels.
• Good understanding of product marketing and integrating consumer insights into product strategies.
• Bilingual (French/English) is an asset but not required.
• Strong MS PowerPoint and Excel skills.
• Working knowledge of SAP, Auto Planner, JD Power PIN Network, Maritz NVCS mTab and POLK Cube is an asset.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Completion of an undergraduate degree, or an equivalent combination of experience and education
• 5+ years of relevant experience in same or similar function with automotive experience being desirable.
