Position description

 

The successful candidate will lead the development, and maintenance on digital products that support Bell Media’s advertising product strategy with the goal of significantly scaling Bell Media’s ad inventory and revenue capabilities.  The  Ad Platform portfolios deliver on web, app and connected TV products and emerging platforms. This role will report to the Senior Manager, Product Owner and will work closely with the ad product, ad operations, platforms, and engineering teams to create an exceptional experience across platforms that supports Bell Media’s digital business and brand goals.


 

 

Job Duties/Accountabilities

 

The Product Owner will be a member of the release train Agile team, who will work with the Product Management team and other stakeholders, including the Product Owners within the agile teams – to define visions, align development to business goals, prioritize epics in the program and team backlog and play a significant role during the Program Increment (PI) Planning.
•    Leverage your strong knowledge of publisher ad tech, the advertising media ecosystem, the ad buyer perspective, and the consumer decision journey to deliver on ad product strategy and roadmap 
•    Providing vision and direction to the Agile development team and stakeholders throughout the project and create requirements 
•    Plan and prioritize product feature backlog and development for the agile teams
•    Define and coordinate testing requirements to the quality assurance teams to validate release build candidates effectively and efficiently
•    In collaboration with the product managers, identify compromised requirements and define solutions to the development team  
•    Collaborate with product managers and other product owners to manage the ad platforms roadmap.
•    Focused on solution, technology and team and preparation to hand off to the agile teams for delivery.
•    Preparation and participation in PI Planning contributing to the program vision, roadmap, and PI objectives at the release train level.
•    Responsible for iteration and program execution; backlog management, iteration planning, understand the enabler work, participate in demos and retros, and writing epics for preparation for hand of to the agile teams
•    Detail workflow opportunities and potential solutions to optimize program time to market
•    Provide an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of Release/Sprint Goals
•    Acting as a primary liaison for the release train.
•    Evaluating product progress at each iteration.
•    Keep abreast with Agile/Scrum best practices and new trends


Critical Qualifications/Competencies

 

•    3+ years of experience in a product management or digital environment
•    Experience with ad serving architecture and formats, RTB auction dynamics, and programmatic buying/selling mechanisms
•    Experience with advertising technologies (Ad server, DSP, SSP, OMS) and other ad technology, campaign planning, or data management platforms.
•    Ability to translate organizational requirements into epics and successful hand 
•    Strong knowledge of SAFe agile project / product management and ability to be an effective product owner
•    Thorough understanding of industry trends, regulations, market trends and competition.
•    Working knowledge of the development flow and technologies involved in the delivery of products and features
•    Detail orientated 
•    Strong organizational and analytical skills
•    Comfort with technological solutions and terminology
•    Knowledge of the Atlassian suite of tools
•    Media experience is a plus
•    Experience with analytics or customer data platform tools is a plus
•    Leadership and strong communication skills
•    Entrepreneurial drive with a passion for product excellence and partner success
