Role overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Solution Architect to join our team! The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Azure and a strong background in Life and Annuities Insurance. This role offers the opportunity to work on pioneering projects that drive our company's mission forward. The position requires a deep understanding of software engineering principles and the ability to apply them to real-world problems.

What you'll do

• Collaborating with corporate business teams to identify and drive opportunities for architecture alignment and reuse between corporate lines of businesses.
• Supporting and driving definition of key aspects of the strategic architecture, identifying and resolving gaps or key issues.
• Works with executives from various groups to provide architectural recommendations & guidance as well as executive-level presentations at the enterprise level.
• Providing architectural direction and communicating architectural decisions, plans, goals and strategies.
• Delivers architectural initiatives that to align with business strategy.

What you bring to the role

• Minimum 10-12 years of expertise in large and/or sophisticated system integration projects.
• Minimum 8-10 years of experience in crafting software/platform/infrastructure architecture plans to support business outcomes.
• Strong understanding of various integration and architecture technologies.
• Experience in cloud platform Microsoft Azure is a requirement.
• Must have experience working in an Agile development environment.
• Solid understanding of API design and integration patterns and cloud-based architectures.
• Proficiency in integration technologies such as APIs, ESBs, microservices, message brokers, ETL tools, and protocols (REST, SOAP, etc.).
• Expert in assessing trade-offs between various integration approaches and platform design approaches.

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 3 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Toronto, ON, Canada.
