Adecco is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to join our team as the Planning – Department Head for our advanced manufacturing facility located in St. Thomas, ON. As the Head of Planning, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing our manufacturing processes to meet key performance indicators while ensuring safety, efficiency, and quality. Detailed Job Description:

  • Organize and enhance manufacturing processes to achieve key performance indicators, including safety, efficiency, cycle time, yield, and reliability.

  • Collaborate with R&D and production teams to align electrode, assembly, and formation process parameters.

  • Provide critical support to launch and quality teams by developing production and process control plans.

  • Establish and update technical specifications with suppliers and technology providers.

  • Create, update, and manage quality inspection documentation, including process DOE, in-line data analysis, tolerance case studies, testing data analysis, and production capacity assessments.

  • Conduct thorough DOE/trial run data analysis for Control Plan and PFMEA.

  • Evaluate failure and root cause analysis in collaboration with quality and R&D, including tear down analysis of lithium battery cells.

  • Offer technical expertise in 8D problem-solving reports for quality and R&D teams.

  • Provide on-site technical support during commissioning, installation, debugging, and testing phases.

  • Participate in technical meetings, design reviews, and machine development activities with suppliers to ensure process requirements are met.

  • Drive cost reduction initiatives and facilitate improvement projects.

  • Oversee manufacturing issue resolution and participate in factory and site acceptance tests.

  • Update PFMEA's, implement control plans, and ensure production readiness timelines are met.

  • Develop and document validation plans, conduct tests, and analyze results.

  • Draft operational procedures for pilot production.

  • Perform other task-related duties based on your expertise and experience.

Candidate's Profile:

  • Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada.

  • International mindset with an interest in global work and diverse teams.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or similar field, or equivalent relevant work experience.

  • 8+ years of related experience in cell design, process control, and quality control.

  • 3+ years in a supervisory role.

  • Proficiency in critical battery technologies, such as welding, visual systems, mixing, formation, and aging.

  • Strong knowledge and practical experience with PFMEA, GR&R, SPC, and process capability.

  • Familiarity with problem-solving methodologies like 8D, PDCA, and 4M1E.

  • Experience with CC/SC (Critical Control Point / Significant Control Point).

  • Expertise in DOE (Design of Experiment) between product and process.

  • Thorough understanding of improvement production Critical Process Capability (CPK Value).

  • Extensive experience in production launch ramp-up and quality enhancement.

  • Willingness to travel (~20%), including international trips.

  • Flexibility in work hours to accommodate time zone differences.
