About This Opportunity
Merchandising Planner is part of the customer excellence team reporting to the Senior Manager, Merchandising & Strategy. The candidate will succesfully collaborate with field supervisors, managers and other stakeholders to ensure that service level goals are achieved, schedules are optimized, and the initiatives/pilots are planned as efficiently as possible.
Responsibilities
• Work directly with local Merchandising Leads to create weekly schedules that execute strategies to reduce operating expenses and provide optimal customer service.
• Assist Merchandising Leads in maximizing manpower and analyze staffing activities.
• Maintain all data necessary to utilize Merlin, including review and reconciliation of actual vs plan, resource maintenance and all other 'back end' set-ups required within the planning application.
• Post analysis of scheduling effectiveness & reconciliation and various ad hoc analysis to support continuous improvement.
• Open forum communication with assigned Sales Office to analyze business trends, resources and scheduling based on volume, ad activities, inventory turns, and points of interruption.
Qualifications
- Highly self-motivated and self-directed with the ability to balance multiple assignments without close supervision and ability to lead change efforts on new initiatives and processes when needed.
- 2 or more years of experience Merchandising/Planning
- Direct customer selling and/or merchandising experience preferred
- Demonstrated ability to analyse, problem-solve and provide viable solutions based on customer needs and company objectives
- Proven ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in English, French is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Demonstrated ability to understand policies/guidelines and use them as intended
- Demonstrates flexibility and takes the initiative when appropriate, uses good judgment and make decisions quickly.
- Proficient with PC applications, including MS Office, specifically excel
- Must be able to effectively overcome roadblocks and ensure the highest integrity in the data and tools provided and work collaboratively with the Sales Centre
