Key Responsibilities:
- Complete medication room audits in long-term care facilities on a regular and routine basis as per Manitoba Health standards requirement. Complete medication room audit reports for submission to the consultant pharmacist.
- Suggest action plans for the facility to improve areas where gaps are identified.
- Maintain client relationships as point of contact between clients and pharmacy operations.
- Maintain appropriate supplies and materials
- Involvement in prescription management for long-term care facility stock medications
- Ability to travel within Winnipeg and Selkirk areas
- Ability to accommodate a flexible schedule upon short notice
Qualifications & Job Requirements:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and customer service skills
- Valid Manitoba driver’s license with good driving record.
- Use of personal vehicle for travel with mileage allowance provided.
- Detail-oriented and good problem-solving skills
- Positive, cooperative, and team-oriented attitude
- Effective time-management and can accommodate flexible scheduling
- Ability to effectively organize and manage multiple projects
- Computer literacy including Microsoft Office suite, email and internet, and ability to develop working knowledge of MediSystem pharmacy software programs.
- High School Diploma
Preferred:
- Experience working in a long-term care facility, or demonstrated current knowledge of nursing practice in a long-term care setting
- Experience working in a retail environment
- Pharmacy Technician Diploma from accredited college, but not required
This role requires employees to be flexible to work a variety of shifts during the business’ hours of operations, which may include occasional weekend shifts and statutory holidays.
