This Part-Time Academic will be fully responsible for the teaching and grading of one section of THEA 1802.03: Introduction to Acting and Performance B, from January 1 to April 30, 2024 (Winter Term). This course is designed to introduce students to the craft of Acting and the collaborative process of creating theatre. The approach is practical, focusing on two major aspects of Acting and Performance: Context and Action. Units are comprised of exercises and scene study, with scripts drawn from a range of periods and genres. The instructor will work closely with teaching staff, using a syllabus common across multiple sections of the course, and is required to prepare and grade all written and performance work, and to calculate and then submit final marks. This position works in collaboration with full-time Acting Program faculty, is expected to participate in the day-to-day administration of the Acting Program and reports to the Director of the Fountain School of Performing Arts.
