This Part-Time Academic will be responsible to direct the Dalhousie University Chorus from September 1, 2023, to April 30, 2024 (Fall & Winter Term). Rehearsals are held weekly, resulting in a public performance each term. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: organization of the participants; scheduling, planning and preparation of rehearsals and concerts; overseeing the distribution of scores, implementing the ensemble’s Method of Assessment. The Chorus Director must coordinate with the Associate Director of Productions, Voice Area, and the productions administrator regarding the selection of concert repertoire within the context of developing the School’s multi-year plan, including regarding commissions of new works and organization of special collaborative endeavours. This is an hourly-paid position reporting to the Director of the Fountain School of Performing Arts.
