What Are We Looking For?

A self-motivating and proactive individual that will be responsible for supporting portfolio marketing in Ciena's industry leading coherent optical portfolio. Activities include developing internal and external-facing assets, supporting sales enablement initiatives and reinforcing Ciena leadership through thought leadership materials. This individual will work as an advocate for Ciena's coherent modem offerings externally with Ciena partners as well as internally within Ciena. Requires strong liaison with Product Line Management, R&D, and the Marketing organization.

• Support the development and implementation of go-to-market initiatives to help grow market share globally for coherent optical products
• Support the marketing strategy with event marketing and lead generation programs
• Use market, customer and competitive input to develop appropriate positioning for Ciena’s coherent portfolio
• Create compelling digital and other marketing content targeted and written to the right audiences to create demand for Ciena offerings
• Demonstrate expertise in coherent transceivers and optical networking solutions
• You will be collaborating with Product Line Management and Marketing teams to ensure alignment of go-to-market strategies with both business and corporate objectives. You will also be interfacing regularly with R&D organization to ensure accuracy of marketing content and materials.

Requirements:

• Strong understanding of customer requirements in the optical market, and coherent solutions in particular
• Proven track record of working in a team-oriented environment while leveraging remote resources   
• Proven track record of presentation, interpersonal, and communications skills (internal/external)
• Proven track record of excellent writing skills for creating/editing meaningful content for specific audiences of buyers and industry influencers (ex. blogs, white papers, presentations, success stories, case studies…)
• Strong organizational skills and ability to execute and drive deliverables and initiatives to closure
• Flexible individual capable of handling multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
