All positions will be based out of Fort Edward, New York (1 Eddy Street, 12828). This is a permanent, full-time position.

Job Requirements

High School Diploma or GED/TASC required
-
Positive and proactive attitude with the ability to address issues and implement solutions

Excellent mechanical aptitude

Familiarity with computers, experience with J.D. Edwards is a plus

Results-oriented; accept accountability for self and team

Hydraulics/pneumatics/lubrication knowledge a plus

Certified or willing to be certified to operate and work from man lift.

Candidates will be evaluated for their attitudes, behaviors, reading comprehension, math skills, and mechanical aptitude

Millwright or Mechanic certification not required but preferred
Experience
-
Welding and rigging, 2 years each on the job or 1 year each with certification
-
Roll maintenance and rebuilding to include bearing removal and installation (spherical straight bore and tapered bore, and taper bearings) head removal and head to shell fit measurements, 2 years required
-
Pump and gearbox rebuilding, 2 years preferred
-
Proficient in Precision/Laser alignment, 2 years preferred
-
Proficient in Coupling and V-Belt alignment, 2 years preferred
-
Working Knowledge of material handling and conveying systems.
-
Fabrication skills to include welding, metal lathe, general machine shop tools and general construction experience, 2 years preferred
-
Experience in a manufacturing environment is highly desired. Previous experience in Paper Mill, Paper Converting or similar industries is a plus.
The main duties/responsibilities of this role include:

Execute the maintenance program for their department
-
Maintain the reliability of the equipment to assure the availability and durability of the equipment under optimum costs

Works with their colleagues to achieve results
-
Works alongside the Maintenance Planner to enhance work plans for future planned work events.

Responsible for the entry of follow-up work requests generated from findings and improvement idea
-
Work with Operations, Logistics and/or Paper Mill personnel within asset teams to ensure maximum operating efficiency of assigned assets.

Perform Predictive, Preventative and Corrective maintenance, as directed, on assigned assets to maintain peak performance.

Share relatable experience and knowledge with co-workers and provide relevant training to less experienced team members, when required and appropriate.

Troubleshoot system/equipment problems, research solutions, determine corrective plans and return equipment to standard using applicable source documents.
