Do you have a strong leadership background in operations, enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and have a commitment to safety and reliability? Our Non Production Operations team is looking for an individual with a high level of customer service to support all business units across our site.

You will use your expertise to:

  • Lead and motivate a dynamic multidisciplinary team
  • Manage a large, diverse contract-based workforce with seasonal increases in head count
  • Collaborate with our reliability, environmental, safety, projects, and production groups to manage inspections and maintenance on critical assets and minimize impacts to site logistics
  • Improve and enhance the workers’ site experience
  • Manage day-to-day facility operations
  • Oversee all roads and grounds work including bridges, ditches and sidewalks on site
  • Be committed to the safe operation of the land fill, hazardous waste yard, potable water, and waste water treatment plants on site

We’d like to review your application if you have…

  • Must-haves (minimum requirements):
  • Five years of supervisory experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or ten years of supervisory and related experience in an industrial environment
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills that enable you to build strong, positive relationships with diverse groups across our business
  • An understanding of controlling hazardous energy and safe work permit processes
  • Leadership in incident management processes
  • Proficiency using Enablon software
  • A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
  • Alignment with our values of: safety above all else, respect, raise the bar, commitments matter and do the right thing

Preference for:

  • A continuous improvement mindset and are able to seek greater knowledge and understanding of the systems, process and hazards in the workplace
  • The ability to anticipate potential problems and check for out-of-the-ordinary conditions, as well as having a strong sense of accountability
  • High motivation for safe operations and a commitment to address any issues
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong technical knowledge of SAP and the Maintenance and Reliability Standard

Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other meaningful information:

  • You will work out of our Base Plant in Fort McMurray, Alberta
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs
  • If you reside outside of Fort McMurray, relocation of your primary residence to within 60 km of Fort McMurray is mandatory. Relocation support will be provided; we offer highly competitive housing assistance to eligible individuals
