About the role
As an Operational Excellence Business Advisor in our Claims Optimization team, you understand that having lean processes that support second to none customer service is the key to success. Your ability to demonstrate a continuous improvement mindset will be critical as you act as an overall representative of the Claims organization. As a natural self-starter with a fine eye for detail, you have a passion for process improvement.
Here are a few ways you will make a difference:
Actively lead or participate in process improvement projects, including ideation through to implementation and control of solutions
Optimize claims business models and processes to improve operational efficiency and customer service delivery
Collaborate with various stakeholders to map current state and define future state using a process improvement framework
Advocate change in the business as it relates to satisfying our strategic objectives and enhancing both employee and customer experience
Utilize change management and project management techniques to take the lead or assist in the implementation of sustainable changes
Actively lead or participate in the collection, research, pull and organization of data to answer specific business questions
Perform basic to in-depth statistical analyses and compile results
Conduct or support cost benefit analysis activities
Propose creative business solutions with respect to the project and make viable recommendations
Effectively transform and communicate complex concepts, both orally and written, to various stakeholder groups (frontline to executive)
Support the development of documentation pertaining to process improvement initiatives, including tools, templates, training materials, analyses, etc.
Train or support others in adopting a continuous improvement mindset and utilizing a process improvement framework
What you bring to the table:
1 to 5+ years of previous experience as an advisor, analyst or similar role
STEM education (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) preferred
Previous work experience in the insurance industry (experience within the Claims department considered an asset)
Lean Six Sigma certification strongly preferred, will also consider a combination of applied experience / education
Applied project management and change management experience
Beginner to Advanced level experience with Microsoft office and data visualization tools (Power BI, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint)
Beginner to advanced process mapping skills; value stream mapping experience an asset
Analytical skills and high attention to detail
Written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex data and concepts to usable information for various levels of stakeholders
Strong presentation skills to various levels of stakeholders
Demonstrates a continuous improvement mindset
Curious in nature and likes to dive deep into complex problems and concepts
Positive and enthusiastic attitude with the ability to build and maintain relationships with all stakeholders
Problem solving and persuasion skills to overcome resistance to change
A team player who thrives in a collaborative environment and can provide and receive constructive feedback
No Canadian work experience required but must have authorization to work in Canada
For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country
