Why this role is important?
We're looking for Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and Nurse Immunizer (RN)to join the Shoppers Drug Mart team to administer flu/COVID shots. All shots are appointment based.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Drawing up and administering flu/Covid 19 vaccines
- Following informed consent process
- Ensuring cold chain of vaccine is maintained
- Advising client or guardian about possible adverse reactions and providing after care instructions
- Monitoring for reactions post-immunization and identifying and reporting adverse reactions and requesting transfers care as appropriate
- Completing required documentation after the vaccine is delivered
Experience, Skills & Qualifications
- Graduation from an approved program of Practical Nursing
- Current practicing registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Authorization to provide Immunization and the administration of Vaccines or Completed training and have experience in Covid-19 mass vaccination sites
- Current certificates in CPR Level C or equivalent and First Aid
- COVID-19 Immunization: Proof of full immunization against COVID-19
- IMMSBC experience preferred
