The Opportunity:
Currently we are looking for a Mechanical Engineer / EIT – Building Systems. Preferably someone with minimum 3 years of experience with building related projects who can manage these projects from beginning to end with supervision of a senior engineer.

A day in the life:
- You will be using your expertise to develop and write engineering study reports and proposals.
- You will be using your building mechanical related design and engineering experiences to produce key mechanical engineering deliverables, including, drawings, specifications and supporting calculations.
- You will be using your expertise to handle multiple project assignments.
- You will be using your experiences to review contractor shop drawings, technical submittals, all other tender & construction documents during TPS (Tender Phase Service) and CPS (Construction Phase Service) of the projects.
- You will ensure that ability to travel to project sites in Canada
What you'll bring to WSP ...
- Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical engineering.
- Minimum 3 years of engineering experience in the design of building-mechanical related systems (i.e. HVAC, Process exhaust, Hydronics, Plumbing, Drainage, Fire protection). Dust-collection and Odor-control systems design experience is an asset.
- Well versed in AutoCAD MEP, BIM 3D modeling software, Carrier HAP hourly analysis program.
- Knowledge of Energy modeling and analysis using eQuest software (or other equivalent software) is an asset.
- Professional license or eligibility to be a licensed Mechanical Engineer in Ontario or Nova Scotia.
- Oral and written communication skills for internal and client interaction.
- Demonstrated experience working with clients, contractors, and sub-consultants.
- Knowledge of codes and standards applicable to the design of mechanical systems, including ASHRAE, NBC (National Building Code of Canada), NPC (National Plumbing Code of Canada), NFC (National Fire Code of Canada), NFPA, SMACNA, CSA, TSSA, and industrial ventilation standards.
- Valid Canadian driver license
