Home Hardware has a fantastic opportunity to join our Marketing team as a Marketing Manager- Store Design. Reporting to the Director, Marketing- Content & Media, you will be responsible for leading the development and delivery of Home Hardware Stores Limited interior and exterior store branding.

What you’ll do:
- Lead design of all interior and exterior signage elements, permanent and semi-permanent for both brand and promotions.
- Create environments that are relevant to the customer and consistent with the brand in partnership with Store Planning & Procurement and Dealer-Owners. Respond to site features, local context, customer, and community profile. Create solutions for various store/banner formats including new builds, store renovations and banner conversions.
- Create, develop, coordinate, and review site specific store layouts, designs, visuals, specifications, and schedules - applying the established store design concept templates / criteria. Ensure concept design intent is compliant to regulations and design guidelines.
- Develop and maintain exterior and interior signage guidelines along with standard signage layouts for permanent, semi-permanent and temporary signage.
- Develop and maintain weekly signage matrix in accordance with signage guidelines working closely with internal marketing, merchandising, retail operations and vendor stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively with all internal stakeholders to develop and maintain specific department changes in response to market conditions and banner changes.
- Provide insight, guidance and technical expertise to cross functional teams as relates to interior and exterior store design.
- Work with key cross-functional stakeholders to ensure that design processes, practices and programs are aligned with company business goals and objectives.
- Liaise with Regional Directors, Territory Managers, Dealer-Owners, and Procurement to ensure brand integrity is maintained across Canada for new stores, renovations, and banner conversions.
- Support management of external design firms as necessary.
- Govern HHSL branding guidelines: store exterior, interior and vehicle branding. Vet existing branding and prescribe requirements for all stores tabled by the Application Review Committee, subject to Conditions of Approval.
- Review all completed branding as referred for approval by the Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary. Report approvals / stores that do not comply to completed branding conditions in a timely manner. Consult with, and support, the Retail Operations Team in respect to successful execution of HHSL Brand Guidelines in stores.
- Support the retail design and implementation of Home’s branding in the HHSL Innovation Centre.
What we’re looking for:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following programs is an asset: Business, Retail Management, Interior Design, Industrial Design, Environmental Design, Architecture
- Creative with 5 - 10 years retail store, hospitality or QSR design experience preferred. Extensive knowledge of retail interiors & exteriors and demonstrated ability to apply this knowledge in innovative ways that elevate brand excellence.
- Excellent knowledge in the development of retail site plans, preliminary layouts, fixture plans, architecture, and construction.
- Good working knowledge of AutoCAD, Microsoft Office suite. Good working knowledge of Building Code requirements, and local government requirement.
- Understands vendor shop drawings and has experience reviewing, revising, and approving required.
- Ability to provide direction and decision making on design issues with Consultants.
- Experience in collaborating with cross-functional partners & key stakeholders including architects, marketing, store ops, real estate, category leads, procurement, vendors & construction teams required.
- Excellent communication, relationship building and organization skills. The ability to multi-task and delegate effectively.
- Excellent negotiation skills.
- Good public speaker and comfortable presenting to all levels in the organization.
