WSP - The Manager, training and compliance will be accountable for database and documentation integrity and a key partner in the development, consolidationand monitoring of safety and compliance programs for Fleet and equipment assets nationally. A day in the life:

Abstact monitoring: Ensure compliance with driver abstract and monitoring program. Including 3rd party partnerships, identify areas of non compliance and report accordingly.

Monitor Commercial Vehicle Registration Status: Request regular updates from provincial regulators; review commercial vehicle registration status reports and follow-up on any violations, inspections, infractions. Accountable for the Corporate Carrier Profile including Hours of Service and inspections

Data integration: Consolidate various areas of monitoring (Telematics, Abstracts, community reporting) into a consolidated single point source of reference, actively identify any negative operating trends and recommend risk mitigation opportunities.

Manage Internal Policies/Procedures and documentation for Fleet Safety and compliance: Ensure legislative compliance and Participate in the development and integration of policies, programs and procedures that support our commitment to Zero Harm.

Standards and Specifications development: Participate in the development of vehicle and equipment standards and specifications with a focus on safety, operational effectiveness, and reduction of environmental impact

Incident Management: Participate in incident reviews. Identify mitigation and training opportunities to prevent future occurrences

Telematics: Oversee national telematics program including regular reporting to business line management on utilization and maximizing operational effectiveness. Identify negative operating trends and working collaboratively with People and Culture and Health and Safety to facilitate training and awareness campaigns highlighting the risk and corrective measures. Establish and monitor metrics towards risk reduction and commitment to Zero Harm.

Preventative Maintenance: Maintain, review and update preventative maintenance programs for operational and regulatory compliance

Continuous Improvement: Develop and implement continuous improvement strategies; stay current on industry trends, legislation changes, technology and innovations

Environmental: Ability to quantify environmental impact and consolidation of data to support corporate reporting

Statistical Analysis: Provide regular reports to leadership on status of key metrics

Training & Education: Regularly review training content to ensure it meets current regulatory requirements, industry best practices and corporate needs; make recommendations and participate in the development of training requirements. Monitor training assignments and program for completion.

What you'll bring to WSP ...

10 years of progressively more senior and diverse work experience in Fleet and Asset Management
-
Strong understanding of Provincial legislation (Nationally) related to the operation of motor vehicles and equipment assets. Transport Canada regulations, National Safety Code, and transportation of Nuclear Gauges

Preference will be given to candidates with operational experience in the Transportation, Environmental, Infrastructure and Energy sectors

Must have a strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of equipment asset management programs in the Transportation, Infrastructure and Environmental sectors including licensing, preventative maintenance programs and calibrations
-
Professional accounting designation (CMA, CPA), Fleet, Project / Safety / Asset Management accreditations (CAFM, PMP, CRSP, CAMP) and collision investigation certificates will be considered assets. Equivalent combinations of experience and education may be considered.

Bilingual (French/ English) is considered an asset

Demonstrated ability developing and leveraging metrics, KPI’s and telematics data into operational safety, maximize asset utilization and improve operational effectiveness

Demonstrated success in a collaborative environment leading strong interdisciplinary teams and managing change
