POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Director, Enterprise Business Systems, the Manager, IT Programs manages assigned systems in a program from inception to sustainment and manages both sustainment tasks as well strategic projects. He/she/they is responsible for COTS (Commercial Off the Shelf) systems that are primarily Enterprise Resource Planning (ERPs) and those custom-developed within BC housing. The position manages staff and contractor resources in providing application support and the execution of strategic projects. The role also ensures effective liaison between business users and various groups within IM/IT and is responsible for the KPIs, resource allocations and delivery timelines assigned to the systems in the program.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
The successful candidate will have the following:
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
University degree in Commerce/Business Administration, Information Technology or other relevant fields from a recognized post-secondary institution.
Extensive IT industry experience specifically focused on IT solutions and services.
Considerable experience in supporting enterprise-wide business systems and managing complex multi-phased projects.
Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience acceptable to the Employer
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Considerable knowledge and understanding of project management processes, methodologies and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Considerable knowledge of feasibility, risk assessment, impact and cost-benefit analysis techniques and processes
Considerable knowledge and understanding of systems technology trends
Ability to critically assess and evaluate trends applying to the organization.
Ability to take ownership of tasks and drive them through to completion
Ability to deliver complex projects on time and on budget while maintaining effective client and team relationships.
Ability to effectively lead project teams consisting of internal IT staff and business users, contractors and consultants
Ability to generate and articulate new ideas and adapt effectively to new technologies
Ability to excel working under pressure to meet deadlines and changing priorities
Strong developed analytical, problem solving, decision-making, organizational and time management skills
Strong project management, leadership, negotiation, facilitation, influence management and interpersonal skills
Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills.
