Job Purpose:

As Manager, Global Finance Risk Governance, you will be instrumental in supporting the development and operationalization of departmental risk governance processes, policies, and procedures for Global Finance.   And you will interact with many stakeholders while developing and delivering effective and timely communications and training materials.  You will also be responsible for the ongoing monitoring and oversight of Global Finance’s policy governance initiatives and activities. 

 

 

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

Policy Development, Communications & Training:

  • Support the development and deployment of new risk management policies, procedures, and frameworks across Global Finance and/or the Bank, as needed.
  • Assess the impact of new or updated Bank-wide policies on Global Finance operations
  • Update departmental-level policies and procedures as needed, highlighting relevancy to Global Finance while ensuring integration and alignment with the broader organization.
  • Support the implementation of new policies and initiatives through communication and training to Global Finance stakeholders
  • Coordinate and document approvals of key policies by appointed management risk committees and by the Risk Committee of the Bank’s Board of Directors, as needed.
  • As policy governance SME, provide advice and counsel to Global Finance stakeholders on the development of local policies, procedures, and standards, as needed. 

Risk Governance Management & Reporting

  • Maintain a central repository of Global Finance policies and procedures; and perform ongoing oversight to ensure updates are made in and communicated to relevant stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Performs oversight activities to ensure alignment and consistency of governance documentation across Global Finance and the Bank.
  • Aggregate risk data from various sources, perform root cause analysis, identify common themes, and highlight significant risks or issues for management consideration.
  • Perform monitoring and reporting of governance program reporting.  Produce dashboards and other reports, highlighting key performance indicators (KPIs) and key risk indicators (KRIs) to Global Finance Management.
  • Provide support during internal and external engagements (e.g.: internal audits, regulatory exams, third-party consulting reviews, etc.)
  • Proactively seek out opportunities to enhance Global Finance risk governance processes and programs

Other:

  • Support in the coordination of departmental internal reviews, audits, and regulatory examinations, as needed. 
  • Keep abreast of risk management regulatory requirements and industry best practices
  • Understand and incorporate the Bank’s risk appetite and risk-culture in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Manage accountabilities effectively and efficiently while ensuring adherence to operational and regulatory risk obligations and the Bank’s internal control standards.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • Undergraduate university degree
  • Minimum 5 years experience in one or more of the following areas: Risk Management, Program Governance, Compliance, Internal Controls, Policy Development, and/or Training & Learning.
  • Qualitative and quantitative analysis and reporting
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong, collaborative stakeholder relationships
  • Multi-tasking and time-management
  • Independent initiative and highly motivated team player.
  • Program and/or project management experience considered an asset
