Rogers is investing in expanding and modernizing its Fibre & HFC Networks, and currently seeking a manager to lead a technical team dedicated to Fibre & HFC testing & verification and introductions of new technologies. 
This position will report to the Director of Cable Access & Transport Engineering and will be responsible for the following:

 

  • Testing, verification & evaluation of new Fibre, HFC & Optical Access technology, upgrades, and enhancements.
  • Fibre, HFC & Optical Access new technology introductions.
  • Author and support network standards documents such as Tech Notes.
  • Engineering support of HFC & Optical access HW/SW changes, outages & problem cases.
  • Transfer of knowledge and operationalization of new Fibre, HFC & Optical Access technology.
  • Participation in industry working groups to drive future technologies and equipment.
  • Lifecycle Management of HFC & Optical Access HW and SW.
  • Management of Fibre & HFC test beds & testing activities.
  • Lead technical aspects of the RFP/RFI process for the HFC access network, working closely with Procurement teams


What you will bring:

  • Strong understanding of Fibre & HFC Networks and systems including experience with roles and functions of all HFC elements.
  • Industry tracking
  • Highly effective communicator with the ability to frame technology issues in business terms and effective at managing and confronting conflicts and issues.
  • Highly adaptive and flexible to changing environments and priorities. Comfortable working within a team of Senior Network staff.
  • Well versed on industry standards, vendor roadmaps for next generation networks
  • Familiarity with HFC and Optical test equipment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical teams.
  • Education experience should include a post-secondary education, Bachelor of Engineering preferably.
