The Manager, Data Analytics contributes to the overall success of the Business Banking Operations (BBO) in Canada ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
This role will support strategic decision-making for Directors and VPs and aid in the delivery of initiatives and objectives. This position is ideal for a critical and strategic thinker who is curious, committed, and an excellent team player. You will be business-minded and understand the importance of supporting decisions with data analytics. Your ability to think critically and strategically, combined with your technical skills, will be essential in driving the success of the BBO Analytics program.
Is This Role Right for You? In this role, you will:
- Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
- Design, develop, and maintain visually stunning PowerBI reports and dashboards to provide actionable insights and support data-driven decision-making.
- Utilize SQL querying skills to extract, transform, and load data from various sources to ensure comprehensive and accurate reporting.
- Integrate data from various sources to create comprehensive and accurate reports. Ensure data quality and consistency across all reports and dashboards.
- Lead and manage BBO Analytics Pipeline & any ad hoc initiatives from senior management, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business objectives.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest PowerBI features and best practices. Apply this knowledge to improve existing reports and develop new solutions.
- Bridge the gap between data and business operations by leveraging data analytics skills to address business concerns and support strategic decision-making.
- Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

- Technical Aptitude: Proficiency in PowerBI for data visualization and reporting & Strong SQL querying skills for data extraction, transformation, and loading.
- Business Mindset: Ability to leverage data analytic skills to address business concerns and think critically.
- Problem-Solving Commitment: Demonstrated commitment to solving problems and addressing business concerns.
- Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral, with expertise in interacting effectively with all levels of management, including Executive.
- Effective Partnering Relationships: Ability to develop and maintain highly effective partnering relationships with key stakeholders.
- Organizational Change Management: Proven track record of organizational change management solutions.
- Educational Background: Master’s degree in Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Computer Science or related discipline is preferred but not required.
- Hybrid Work Environment: 2-3 days in office. Flexible with Mississauga / Downtown Toronto office location.
