Maintenance Technician

Responsibilities:

Demonstrate hands-on approach to achieving objectives by:

  • Completing preventative and routine maintenance tasks including, but not limited to: cleaning and maintaining boilers; painting; changing light bulbs; replacing heat pump filters; clearing roof drains; basic lubrication of equipment; start-up and testing of emergency generators; salting and sanding; periodic minor janitorial functions; and other periodic hands-on requirements as directed
  • Making adjustments and minor repairs to boilers, pumps, ventilation, air conditioning equipment, and other equipment
  • Completing minor plumbing repairs
  • Using automated and computerized equipment (e.g. Energy Management Controls System) to monitor and optimize building performance
  • Support the safety, comfort and well-being of building occupants and users of our services and protect the company’s investment in our properties and related inventories
  • Ensure the organization is in compliance with relevant legislation, codes, rules, and procedures

Requirements:

  • Requires basic knowledge of job procedures and tools obtained through work experience and may require vocational or technical education.
  • Works well under moderate supervision
  • Problems are typically of a routine nature, but at times require interpretation or deviation from standard procedures
  • Communication information that requires some explanation or interpretation
