This position reports to the Pharmacy Manager and is responsible for delivering and administering medications to patients to provide them with additional support to remain safely living in the community independently.
Responsibilities: What you'll do:
Visit patient(s) daily at their residence, deliver medications, and ensure medications are taken as directed
Administer medications via oral, transdermal, and injection routes (ie. subcutaneous insulin injection, administering vaccines intramuscularly) in accordance with program policy and medical protocols
Performing patient assessments as required (monitoring blood glucose & blood pressure)
Document the witnessed ingestion and record BP/BG
Report any concerns or questions to the pharmacist or pharmacy manager
Qualifications: What you’ll need:
Current & good standing Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or care aid
Current CPR certification required
Valid BC driver's license
Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check
Superior customer relations skills and a strong sense of professionalism
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Have compassion and empathy
Preferred 1+ years of experience and/or experience in a pharmacy setting with experience administering medications
Hours: 9 am to 11 am daily, or certain days of the week only. Part-time role serving Burnaby and surrounding areas.
