What is the Opportunity?
As part of the Group Risk Management team (GRM), the Lead Operational Risk Analyst will support operational risk management leadership by providing/developing technology solutions and systems to enhance management’s/stakeholders’ ability to anticipate and manage operational risks effectively.
The role will support the Director, Technology and Systems in building out robust technology capabilities to support the execution of the Operational Risk management framework and the operational risk technology roadmap.
It is responsible for providing ongoing support for the various operational risk management systems and stakeholders, ensuring applications/tools are able to deliver a scalable, stable and performant environment that meets both program requirements and the need of the business areas.
What will you do?
- Support development of Operational Risk Systems roadmap and backlog, in alignment with the overall operational risk business strategy
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including operational risk universal practices teams, operational risk domain COGs(Centers of Governance)as well as 1LOD teams across enterprise to understand needs and translate them into system requirements and user stories
- Act as the primary point of contact for technical teams and stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of the OR systems’ enhancements
- Provide support relating to Operational Risk applications enhancement activities. Support includes: eliciting and documenting business requirements, data analysis, developing user stories, test cases, job aids and templates, conducting end-to-end testing, release planning
- Provide day to day BAU support related to the Operational Risk applications. Support includes: data analysis, access management, data management, report management, and problem resolution.
- Partner with OR Data Analytics and IT in designing, testing and implementing analytics capabilities required to meet the analytics and reporting needs of the operational risk team
- Establish strong working relationships across business units and platforms to build influence and impact with key business partners
- Communicate product features and benefits to key stakeholders
- Continuously monitor OR systems performance and gather customer feedback to inform ongoing product improvements
What do you need to succeed?
Must Have
- Bachelor's Degree
- 7+ years of experience in a relevant functional areas including financial services, information technology, or other related operational area that supports risk/compliance initiatives within the organization
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into business requirements
- Ability to interpret business requirements and understand their technology implications
- Ability to work collaboratively, develop strong relationships and influence people/groups of varying disciplines and backgrounds.
- Creativity to go beyond current processes to deliver the best solution for a problem or an opportunity
- Experience in performing QA and UA testing to ensure functionalities meet the requirements.
- Experience in Data Analysis using SQL (or other programming language)
- Ability to analyze data sets, identify underlying data patterns, document findings and problem solve.
- Ability to work and troubleshoot technical problems independently or with minimal support
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to quickly and efficiently adapt to new concepts.
- Proven experience working in a scrum team and delivering software under the agile methodology
Nice to Have
- Strong working knowledge of Operational Risk Management concepts and processes
- Working knowledge of industry Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) solutions/packages (e.g Archer)
- Strong knowledge and skills of RBC data, analytics methodology, practices and tools
- Knowledge of Project Management (PMF) process/disciplines
