Rogers is currently seeking a talented and experienced person for the role of Senior Development Manager on the Digital Wireless Commerce team reporting into the Director, Wireless Commerce Delivery. The successful candidate will be part of a fast-paced development team responsible for the delivery of an exceptional online customer experience. You must be able to dive deep into the details on business, operations and engineering.
What you will be doing..
You are a Senior Developer who is passionate in coding and an expert in developing on web applications. You will work with the front-end developers, and server-side developers to design and build features for our digital platform. We strongly value deep technical skills, willingness to learn, and desire to work in an intensive, highly productive environment
What you will do…
- Contributes to the technical design, development and implementation of cross-functional, multi-platform application systems
- Write high quality code with proper logging, monitoring
- Ensure high code quality through automated unit and functional testing
- Create and review code design and architecture to ensure it can meet our requirements
- Perform peer reviews and refactor regularly
- Write new systems of varying complexity, working with application designs and specifications, utilizing standard procedures and techniques
- Responsible for developing new solutions
- Understands the collection of a series of technologies needed to complete a project
- Design and develop microservices to support our digital applications
- Create responsive web applications using Angular 10+
- Collaborate with other developers on your team, as well as the product, engineering, UX, business partners and other teams across the organization to help develop the front end application solutions
- Work with a team that practices agile product and software development
- Collaborate with multiple teams (product and tech) across the organization
- Design and recommend solutions to challenging problems
- Prepare documentation as needed
What you will bring:
- 3-5 years of experience with Java development
- Deep knowledge of advance Java concepts, Design patterns
- Proven experience with Spring Framework
- Knowledge of Angular & Design Systems across Web & Mobile Hybrid technology
- Experience developing large, complex software projects
- Experience working with DevOps pipelines (Git, Jenkins), continuous integration/delivery, automated testing (unit, functional, performance)
- Understanding of Docker, Play/Akka, Cassandra, ElasticSearch, Kibana, Azure, Jenkins, Nginx, and Unix preferred
- Basic knowledge of Angular, HTML, CSS, Javascript for smooth integration with UI
- Strong critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience mentoring team members, overseeing code quality and driving best practices
- Excellent communication skills. Be able to explain technical concepts to non-technical people
- Strong collaboration skills. Be able to reach out and work with other teams to produce great results
