Job Description

What is the opportunity?

RBC is seeking a Lead Business Systems Analyst (BSA) for our US Cash Management Technology. This is a green field project to build a brand-new system to serve our corporate clients. You will be heavily involved in shaping the future technology landscape of RBC, by delivering key business values for a transformational project in our Banking Technology while implementing strategic components servicing across all functions defined in our roadmap.

The Lead BSA will be responsible for analyzing information technology (IT) requirements in business processes, through requirements elicitation, solutions identification, risk analysis and collaboration across business and technology teams. You will accomplish this with teamwork and collaborate with developers, business stakeholders and the vendor teams to ensure solutions are aligned to business and technology strategy. With a can-do mind set, you will need to be an expert level organizer to resolve business problems in a structured and systematic manner.  You are not afraid of challenging the team on technical details and be able to think functionally.

What will you do?

  • Facilitate collaborative sessions with large and diverse business stakeholder groups to drive requirements discovery, analysis, and review. Apply elicitation techniques to work with different types of stakeholder groups
  • Perform data mappings, reverse engineering, documenting as-is flows, performing gap analysis and elicit requirements to support to-be end state
  • Perform business analysis including understanding of business objectives, planning, eliciting, scoping, analyzing, documenting, prioritization, managing changes, maintaining traceability, managing backlogs, stakeholder analysis and effort estimation
  • Produce requirement artifacts in the form of Business Process Mapping, Use Cases & Scenarios, Data Catalogue, User Stories, Story Decomposition, Story Mapping and Requirements traceability
  • Build and maintain a repository of reusable requirements documentation through Confluence/SharePoint to future initiatives, following the enterprise standards

What do you need to succeed?
Must-have

  • 6-10 years of experience working as a BSA on large and complex projects
  • Good understanding of web application and API architecture patterns
  • Experience working with Core Banking, Liquidity & Virtual Accounts Management 
  • Excellent communication, active-listening, relationship-building, self-management, proactive, team-player, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working within an agile team and familiarity with agile methodology such as Scrum or Kanban
  • Deadline-driven and results-oriented; able to meet consistently high-quality standards while handling a variety of tasks and deadlines simultaneously

Nice to have

  • Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience in Core Banking, Deposits, Payments and/or Cash Management domains (DDA, Payments, Funds Transfer, SWIFT /Messaging, Trade Services
  • General database skills such as SQL
  • Starter to be comfortable with a fast-moving environment and navigate through the ambiguities
